National Council of Educational Training Institute And Research Organisation, started Nursery Teacher’s Training Course all over India, with the help & cooperation of educational experts with a view to train unemployed educated girls, particularly the girls of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Backward class, so that they may import education, based on modern lines to Preschool children, with a stress on moral, intellectual, Physical & social personality, as it was found, that there was no training for teachers in India for Pre-school going children education. The organisation takes guidance from NCERT, New Delhi & Social Welfare Board (Govt. Of India). Therefore, it is in line with research work at N.C.E.R.T. These two are the only genuine bodies for guidance and affiliation.
Nursery Teachers' Training course also known as NTT is a diploma course for teachers who want to teach and cater to the students at nursery level or pre-primary level. This teacher workforce has to undergo the training of the general TT course where the teacher joins the workforce of several other pre-school teachers. The NTT course helps the students who aim to be pre-school teachers in order to facilitate young minds of nursery children. The course provides various methodologies to the teachers who undergo this TT course which is required in teaching the young students that will be essential in the physical, cognitive and social development.
There are also several methodologies which are taught to the teachers to better understand their job roles and enact them in real life. Some of the important subjects taught are instructional strategies, child psychology, classroom management and cognitive development. There are certain standards in NTT course like that of national and international standards which are highlighted in the course fees of various institutes.
The teachers are enlightened with all subjects and communication at nursery level which are better understood by young minds. Teachers need the best training methodologies as it is important to ensure that the basics of the student, who has just stepped into the world of formal education, are clear. The teachers are seen to be role models in molding morals, habits and character into these young minds and therefore require utmost communication skills in order to be an accomplished Nursery teacher.

The job opportunities for the Diploma holders in NTT training are very specific like that of Nursery in-charge, Nursery Teacher, or nursery department coordinator. There are further prospects for the diploma holders to study further in Masters of TT training, PG in Pre-school teacher training/primary school teacher training or can continue with their job opportunities in schools and pre-schools. The students of NTT also have opportunities in colleges where they themselves can teach and provide NTT training to students. Nursery blocks also provide employment to NTT students as Nursery teachers, Madam, In-charge or helper, Nursery Manager, Assistant pre-primary teacher, NTT/B.Ed Teacher and also as Home Tutors. The salaries provided to the NTT students are very area-specific depending upon whether they are working in an urban or rural demographic. The level of operation and expertise of the diploma holders also become one of the reasons for specifying their salary.
